All about Lipitor » HOW TO USE LIPITOR (DOSAGE)

Lipitor is taken orally. Dosage is based on your medical condition, response to therapy, and use of certain interacting medicines.
The usual starting dose of LIPITOR is 10 mg once a day in adults and children aged 10 years and above. This may be increased if necessary by your doctor until you are taking the amount you need. Continue to take Lipitor even if you feel well. Do not stop taking Lipitor without talking to your doctor.
LIPITOR tablets should be swallowed whole with a drink of water, and can be taken at any time of day, with or without food. BUT this drug is best taken in the evening. Anyway, try to take your tablet at the same time every day. It may take up to 4 weeks before the full benefit of this drug takes effect.
You should eat a low-cholesterol, low-fat diet.
